Croxton Collaborative Architects developed and designed the new Education and Discovey Center for the Tenafly Nature Center. As a Net Zero Energy building, the new center would meet the demand for TNC programs, be universally accessible, and exemplify modern green building design.
The new site is strategically located on a two acre area on the 400 acre Lost Brook Preserve located on the boundary of the Hackensack River and Hudson River watersheds. Preserving the wooded approach into Tenafly, the low-impact Center will be sited 610 feet from the nearest neighbor, beneath the tree canopy and unseen from East Clinton Avenue, with permeable parking located in and among the trees.
