The renovation and expansion of the 82,000 sf historic Bryant School/ Searles Building complex will provide residential condominium units within the Searles Building as well as providing a corporate headquarters for Iredale Mineral Cosmetics within the Bryant School. The project will preserve the historic context and appearance of these beloved local landmarks. The Bryant School was opened in 1889 and still inspires annual pilgrimages from former students, while significantly improving the building’s performance and creating a healthy, enjoyable workplace for the employees. From the start, the project approach has been well beyond executing a development project exclusively for economic gain. The approach is to channel the local community's passion for the place, respect for the people, and the deeply held environmental ethics into a design that maximizes the overall return for the community, the environment and the local economy. The renovation of the historic Bryant School is the first phase (20,000 sf) in the development and has recently completed construction.
